PTFE Coated Tape for Heat Sealing & Release Surfaces
PTFE coated fiberglass tape with silicone adhesive for release surfaces, heat sealing bars and high-temperature masking. Standard thickness range is 0.13-0.30 mm, with 50-roll MOQ, ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 manufacturing and 24-hour sample preparation for evaluation.
What It Is & Why ChenTao
A release-focused high-temperature tape for packaging, sealing, insulation and process masking where a low-friction PTFE surface is needed.
PTFE coated tape is built from woven fiberglass cloth impregnated and coated with PTFE, then laminated with a pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive. The construction combines a low-friction release surface with the dimensional support of glass cloth.
It is commonly specified for heat sealing jaws, impulse sealers, packaging equipment, plastic welding guides, chute liners and masking areas that need clean release during heat exposure. Compared with film-only PTFE tape, the coated glass cloth version usually gives better dimensional stability and mechanical support.
ChenTao manufacturing fit
ChenTao converts PTFE coated tape into standard rolls, narrow slit rolls, sheets and die-cut parts from its Dongguan facility. Batch QA checks can document thickness, peel and dielectric values, while sample dispatch within 24 hours helps engineers validate release, residue and service temperature before purchase.
Where PTFE Coated Tape Is Used
Four common use cases where release surface, heat resistance and stable converting matter more than general-purpose adhesion.

Heat Sealing Bars
Protects hot jaws and creates a release layer for plastic film, pouch and bag sealing equipment.

Packaging & Appliance Assembly
Provides a low-stick barrier on guides, wear strips and fixtures where adhesive buildup slows production.

High-Heat Masking Fixtures
Used on fixtures and tooling when a heat-resistant, non-stick surface is required near process heat.

Plastic Welding & Release Lining
Separates hot plastic, adhesive or composite surfaces from tooling while keeping the tape dimensionally stable.

PTFE Coated Tape vs Alternative High-Temperature Tapes
Use this table to decide whether release behavior, electrical insulation or hand handling should lead the material choice.
| Factor | ChenTao PTFE Coated Tape | Polyimide Tape | PTFE Film Tape | Fiberglass Cloth Tape |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Max temp | 260 C | 180-260 C by process | 260 C | 200 C+ by adhesive |
| Dielectric | Medium | High | Medium | Medium |
| Conformability | Medium | High | Medium-high | Medium |
| Hand-tearable | No | No | No | Sometimes, by grade |
| Relative cost | $$$ | $$ | $$$ | $$ |
| Best fit | Heat sealing bars, release liners, hot tooling | SMT masking and thin electrical insulation | Skived release surface with smoother film face | High-temperature wrapping and reinforcement |

Engineering Scenario - Heat Sealing Bar Release Layer
A practical specification framework for using PTFE coated tape on packaging and sealing equipment.

How ChenTao's PTFE coated tape is specified for heat sealing equipment
Packaging engineers often need a replaceable release layer on hot sealing bars so molten film, adhesive and residue do not build up on metal tooling during repeated cycles.
ChenTao matches the PTFE coated cloth thickness, adhesive format, width and roll length to the bar geometry and replacement schedule. Slit rolls and die-cut strips can reduce on-site trimming and support cleaner setup.
Samples, quotations and batch documentation are kept practical so teams can move from equipment validation to repeat purchasing with fewer specification gaps.
